WILLIAMSTOWN: A Williamstown restaurant will be featured by America’s Best Restaurants.
DaVinci’s will be visited by America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focused on independently owned local restaurants, on October 20 when the ABR Roadshow visits the restaurant.
Popular dishes will be highlighted with an extensive on-camera interview with owner Chris Bender about the restaurant’s place in the community. The episode will be aired widely on social media later.
Open since 1980, Da Vinci’s is an icon in the Williamstown area. Three stories high, there is capacity for 650 diners, including private dining rooms for events and a 60-seat outdoor patio.
Originally owned by Jim and Marilyn Pettit, the restaurant is now owned and operated by Bender, who worked for the Pettits for 30 years as a server and then manager before purchasing the establishment. Bender said she never intended to stay this long, but it’s the love for the people that keeps her there.
“(I love) the people, the interaction not only with the customers, but with the employees, the people you meet and their stories.” she said
Some employees have worked at Da Vinci’s almost since it opened.
Bender also noted the consistency of the restaurant’s food. The menu is Italian with daily, evening and Sunday specials.
Favorites include the Spaghetti Mona Lisa and the German Pizza featuring horseradish sauce, corned beef and sauerkraut. Both are likely to appear in the episode, he said.
Da Vinci’s also has an in-house pastry chef. The mile-high lemon meringue pie and frozen coconut caramel pie are favorites, Bender said.
America’s Best Restaurants will be filmed from 2-5pm EST. The episode air date will be announced on their Facebook page and will appear on the America’s Best Restaurants website at https://americasbestrestaurants.com/west-virginia/davincis-restaurant.
DaVinci’s is located at 215 Highland Ave.
America’s Best Restaurants is headquartered in Florence, Ky.
