The contest to become the Republican Party’s presidential nominee in 2024 is heating up even more, with former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie poised to throw his hat in the ring.
Christie, who ran unsuccessfully for president in 2016, plans to announce his candidacy Tuesday in New Hampshire, according to multiple published reports.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina formally launched their White House bids last week, though technical glitches marred DeSantis’ opening act on Twitter.
Another South Carolina politician, Nikki Haley, a former governor and former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, announced her 2024 bid in February, and other Republicans already in the race include former President Donald Trump, who leads the polls, too. such as former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and long-shot candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

The first official GOP presidential primary debate is scheduled to be held in Milwaukee in August.
On the Democratic side, President Joe Biden began his re-election campaign at the end of April, with the measure coming despite the majority of Americans disapproving of his performance. The president talks about the strong job market and his legislative record.
