Two people have been arrested in connection with the double murder of a 15-year-old and a 23-year-old in Islington, north London.
The two suspects, aged 27 and 17, were arrested on Monday evening on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
They remain in custody at a north London police station.
The 15-year-old victim, Leonardo Reid, was found injured at around 11.30pm on Thursday in Elthorne Road, Islington. after police and paramedics were called to a report of a stabbing. He was pronounced dead shortly after midnight.
The 23-year-old, who was also discovered with stab wounds on the same night, was pronounced dead at a west London hospital.
A 46-year-old man who was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of murder and attempted murder was later released without further charges.
Police said in a statement Friday that they believe a large number of people were present when the attack took place and are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
Chief Superintendent Andy Carter said: “My thoughts are with the families of the two victims who have suffered such an unimaginable loss in this shocking and unacceptable incident.”
