Jonah Hill’s ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady accuses him of being “emotionally abusive” to her when they were together.
The surfer shared screenshots last week of alleged text messages between the pair that she said were sent during their relationship. Brady blasted the movie star for being a “narcissistic misogynist” in the series of posts mainly on her Instagram story.
“This is a warning to all girls. If your partner talks to you like this, make an exit plan. Call me if you need an ear,” Brady wrote alongside a snapshot of the text messages allegedly sent by Hill asking her to remove any browsing photos from her Instagram that showed her “ass in a thong.”
Brady said the actor used to “manipulate” her because of her profession. In one screenshot, Hill’s texts allegedly criticize Brady’s modeling career, saying it’s “the last profession I’d be in as a partner,” Teen Vogue reports.
After Brady, who went public with his relationship with Hill in August 2021, sent a text message that deleted “all posts,” the “Sausage Party” actor’s replies allegedly said he was a “good start,” but Brady doesn’t “seem to get” his point.
“But it’s not my place to teach you. I’ve made my boundaries clear,” the texts allegedly from Hill continued. “You refuse to let some go and you’ve made that clear and I hope it makes you happy.”
“Keep taking me for granted,” another text read. “What a model! It’s a full life.”
Another message appeared to show humor telling Brady that if he wants to surf “with men”, “model”, “post photos of you in a bathing suit” and be “friends with women who are in unstable places” , then he is “He’s not the right match” for her.
“I’m not the right partner for you. If these things lead you to a place of happiness, I support it and there will be no hard feelings. These are my romantic partner boundaries,” the texts added.
According to Fox News, Brady had allegedly replied to Hill by writing, “You see. I don’t need or want to: surf with men without you there unless they’re trusted close friends (agreement between them), inappropriate off-limits friendships with men, modeling, posting photos of myself in a bathing suit for the next year unless it’s a tasteful photo (probably surfing) that you have pre-approved, to post sexual photos, friendships with unstable women from my recent past beyond having lunch or a coffee or something respectful.”

Brady said the “Don’t Look Up” star was initially unbothered by his surfing photos, apparently providing proof of support by sharing a screenshot of a direct message conversation allegedly from July 2021 with Hill in which he reacted with heart eyes to one of her posts.
While he never directly named Hill in his posts, the athlete clarified that “someone who is an emotionally abusive partner doesn’t mean they’re a terrible person,” adding that “it often comes from their own trauma.”
“And at the same time, it doesn’t mean it’s okay,” he argued.
“If I could have one wish for him it would be for him to be surrounded by feminist men who can hold him accountable for growing up the way he’s expressed he wants to,” Brady said in another Instagram post. “I think fame can put people in an echo chamber of viewpoints that can enable emotionally abusive behavior.”
In an additional post, Brady addressed her own mental health issues, writing, “I too struggle with mental health, but I don’t use it to control it. [people] like he did to me.”
She added: “It’s been a year of healing and growth with the help of loved ones and doctors to get back to living my life without guilt, shame and self-judgment over things as small as surfing in a bathing suit in instead of a more conservative wetsuit. . . And I’m sure there’s a lot more healing from this abuse ahead.”
Neither Hill nor Brady’s representatives immediately responded to HuffPost’s requests for comment.
Hill’s name has been synonymous with mental health discussions in recent years, with the actor releasing his own mental health documentary, “Stutz,” about his therapist Phil Stutz last year. In 2021, Hill also went viral after asking followers on social media to stop commenting on her body because it “doesn’t feel right.”
After Brady and Hill split in 2022 after a year together, the “This Is the End” actor started a relationship with Olivia Millar. The couple sparked rumors of a possible engagement after the clothing store owner was spotted wearing a diamond ring in March, and media outlets confirmed in June that Hill and Millar had recently welcomed a baby together .
“I hope my ex has a daughter,” Brady wrote on his Instagram story, apparently addressing Hill. “Maybe it will make him a real feminist.”
Hill previously denied rumors in February 2022 that he proposed to Brady.
“The rumors are not true. I’m engaged. But not to my girlfriend,” Hill wrote on Instagram at the time. “I’m engaged to your mother. I know this is shocking, but please respect our privacy at this time.”
Calling out the media who reported on the speculated engagement, Hill added: “The media stop writing fake stuff, it’s cheesy.”
