Julian Sands: Human remains found in California mountains confirmed to be those of British actor | US News

The human remains found in a mountainous area of ​​California are those of British actor Julian Sands, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed.

The 65-year-old man was reported missing in the Mount Baldy region of the San Gabriel Mountains more than five months ago.

A statement released Tuesday by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said: “The process of identifying the body located in Mt Baldy on June 24, 2023 has been completed and positively identified as Julian Sands, of 65, of North Hollywood.

“The manner of death is still under investigation pending further test results.

“We would like to extend our thanks to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to try and locate Mr Sands.”

Sands, an avid hiker and climber, was reported missing on January 13 after not being able to return from a walk in the area.

The Yorkshire-born actor He was best known for his roles in films such as A Room With A View, Arachnophobia, Leaving Las Vegas and Warlock, as well as television appearances on 24, Smallville and Banshee.

Last week, his family released a statement saying they continued to hold him “in our hearts with bright memories.”
