Martha’s Vineyard in Edgartown, Mass., would not propose to host illegal immigrants after Title 42 expires, as other East Coast cities such as New York have resorted to using elementary schools to take in migrants after facing massive overcrowding.
Fox News Digital asked several city officials whether they would consider housing illegal immigrants to help Democratic-led cities like Chicago or New York, which are struggling to take in tens of thousands of migrants, but none responded.
In September, Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., sent two planes carrying 50 illegal immigrants from Florida to the island in an effort to force left-leaning eastern states like Massachusetts to take over the same responsibilities than those close to the border.

The high-priced getaway declared a “humanitarian crisis” after the 50 migrants were abandoned, and all were removed within 44 hours, while New York City has handled at least 60,000 migrants over several months.

Those who did not respond included Martha’s Vineyard Community Services CEO Elizabeth Folcarelli, Martha’s Vineyard Community Services Chief Human Resources Officer Jamey Smith, Island Housing Planner Laura Silber and Martha’s Vineyard Community Executive Director Adam Turner.
