In her recent Instagram feed, nutritionist Lovneet Batra talks about healthy eating habits that can help improve our well-being and promote good health. Adding these habits to your routine can help improve your lifestyle and your health.

Through her Instagram account @nutrition.by.lovneet, nutritionist Batra explains:

“Your NATIONAL NUTRITION WEEK

Meeting your nutritional requirements also requires cultivating healthy eating habits. Here are some healthy habits you can try incorporating into your routine:

1. Nutrient density

While calories are important, your main concern should be nutrients, which are what your body needs to thrive. So it’s important to get the most out of the food we eat. One way is to choose more nutrient-dense foods, which provide more nutrition for the calories.

2. Food diversity

Dietary diversity means eating a variety of foods. Eating a diverse diet is an indicator of diet quality to support nutrition and health. Start your day with a glass of water: Drinking a glass or two of water right when you wake up is a great way to quickly rehydrate your body.

3. Sleep well

Sleep deprivation disrupts appetite regulation, often resulting in increased appetite. This results in increased calorie intake and weight gain.

4. Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day

5. Minimize the consumption of highly processed foods

6. Don’t choose coffee for breakfast

Coffee for breakfast can throw insulin levels off balance. This causes your brain to crave foods high in fat and sugar, and subsequently makes you feel bored at the end of the day.

7. Include enough protein in your diet

8. Chew your food

The more you chew your food, the easier it will be for your stomach to digest it. Small steps like learning how to chew properly contribute to forming a healthy eating habit.

9. Switch to whole grains

Eating whole grains is associated with several benefits, including a lower risk of diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.

10. Include probiotic foods in your diet

It feeds the body with live probiotics that support our overall health in a number of ways.”
