Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture called on the public to prevent tuberculosis (TB) by practicing a clean and healthy lifestyle.

“People must implement clean and healthy living behavior to prevent various diseases, including tuberculosis,” said Agus Suprapto, deputy coordination of the ministry for health quality improvement and development, in Jakarta on Friday. of the population

Suprapto noted that at this time, the government continued to intensify the TB control program through the find and treat to cure (TOSS) movement.

“The TOSS TB movement is a form of campaign that aims to work together to find cases of tuberculosis,” he said.

Through this move, the government continues to find as many TB cases as possible through active screening in the community at the penitentiary, he noted.

In addition, passive screening was carried out for those seeking treatment at health facilities, he said.

He noted that the TOSS movement also focused on treating people who have come into close contact with TB patients.

“After detecting a case of TB through screening and diagnosis, the next activity carried out in the TOSS movement is to treat until the patient recovers,” he remarked.

Suprapto said the ministry also urges the entire community to play an active role in the success of the TOSS movement to accelerate the TB control program in the country.

“Furthermore, we will continue to remind the public to always reinforce clean and healthy living behavior to reduce the risk of spreading and transmitting TB disease. Please always maintain your body immunity by eating healthy foods and exercising regularly “, he stated.
