Biden warns that Trump and the “forces of Maga” want to strip Americans of their rights
Former President Donald Trump heads to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania today for his first rally of the midterm election season and since the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago residence.
The former president will campaign for Republican Doug Mastriano, who trails his Democratic opponent poorly in fundraising, lags in the polls and has yet to go on the air with ads.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden is also scheduled to be in the state over Labor Day weekend as Pennsylvania becomes a political battleground.
Trump’s rally comes after a Florida court released a full list of what was found at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago estate during an FBI search last month.
Among the documents found in the former president’s home were more than 100 classified documents, more than 10,000 statutory documents owned by the US government and mysteriously 90 empty folders that once contained extremely sensitive documents. These were mixed with photos, newspaper clippings and magazines.

John Harwood quits CNN after calling Trump a ‘demagogue’
CNN White House correspondent John Harwood announced he is leaving the news channel in an abrupt departure that comes amid several changes taking place at the channel as he plans to adopt a politically neutral voice.
Mr Harwood announced his resignation on Twitter on Friday, adding he would “figure out what’s next”.
The resignation comes a day after the reporter praised President Joe Biden’s speech and called Donald Trump a “dishonest demagogue” on air.
“The central point [Biden] made in this political speech about a threat to democracy is true,” Harwood told CNN after the speech. “Now that’s something that’s not easy to say as journalists.”
“We have been led to believe that there are two different political parties with different views, and we do not take sides in honest disagreements between them. But that’s not what we’re talking about. These are not honest disagreements.
“The Republican Party right now is run by a dishonest demagogue.”

Sarah Palin slams GOP opponent after losing special election
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin blasted her Republican opponent Nick Begich III for costing Republicans the special election and called on him to drop out of the race.
“Nick Begich is now a three-time loser,” Ms Palin said in a statement on Thursday. “His ego-driven attendance after repeatedly failing to get a majority of the Republican vote, even though I’ve consistently won the vote, just cost the Republicans a seat in Congress.”
